The Little Ship Club (Qld Squadron) was originally formed by members of the Naval Auxiliary Patrol in October 1951 and today has a mix of many hundreds of Full, Senior, Associate, Social and Honorary Life Members.

The clubhouse is situated at a picture-postcard site on the waterfront of the One Mile, the anchorage on the northern side of the historic village of Dunwich on North Stradbroke Island. Our Club is renowned for its unique location and a year-round program of activities and functions both afloat and ashore - eclipsed, perhaps, only by its stunning setting as a venue for weddings, receptions and events of which dreams are truly made.

The majority of our Members are boat-owners but membership is not restricted to boat-owners, nor to any particular type or size of vessel. We welcome new Members across a range of levels – click here for more information about membership benefits, prices and application forms.

The Little Ship Club is administered by a Board of Directors consisting of the Flag Officers and member Directors, all of whom serve on a voluntary basis. Election of office-bearers is held at the Annual General Meeting at the Club in October each year.

We ask all our Members to give some thought to putting their hand up – both at the AGM and throughout the year – to volunteer and keep our special club reinvigorated and moving forward for future generations. While our Club managers and the members of our House/Social committee arrange and oversee many of our events ashore, it is the active participation of our Members which is needed to help deliver successful activities afloat - be they cruising outings or the regular Fishing Club competitions.

Regular voluntary working bees are held where all Members are welcome to attend and lend a hand. In addition to keeping our beautiful grounds and gardens and small maintenance items shipshape, these days are a great way for Members to get to know each other and to meet the officers and other Members of the Club. New Member’s Days are also held periodically, with a mildly formal welcoming ceremony and presentation followed by a very informal BBQ lunch and get-together with other Members and officers of the Club.

The ambience of our 'little piece of paradise' here on the eastern shores of Moreton Bay is a relaxed and laid-back vibe indeed. Mainland Australia - with all its workday worries - is but a distant blur on the western horizon, beyond the hummocks of Peel Island and the near-180 degree vista of northern Moreton Bay. 'Our' legendary sunsets literally have to be seen to be believed; we hope you will be able to share that experience with us soon.
